Most Haunted Places In Florida- For Zacharius [16 Jun 2005|12:51am]

[ mood | spo0o0oky ]

Fort Myers - Fort Myers National Bank / Near Haunted Train Tracks - employee's have reported to have seen a man running in the upstairs main hall. During office hours, he moves things from desks.

Key West - Artist House B&B - The home of Robert Eugene Otto is haunted by two spirits one is a malevolent spirit of Eugene?s doll Robert who was put in the attic by his wife just mainly an evil presence is felt in the attic.? Also Eugene?s wife?s spirit is believed to be trapped in the Turret room where Robert was kept.? The house is now a hotel or B&B.? Robert is displayed at a museum in Key West

Key West - Cemetery behind St. Paul's Church - Haunted by several. First, by the ghost of a man who almost single handedly drove the pirates out of Key West. Very angry spirit. When there is no wind, there is said to be seen whirlwinds through a tree next to his grave. Also, he has attacked several visitors to the cemetery. The Ghost Tour does not bring tours into the cemetery any more because of him. The second haunting is a group of children who died in a fire across a small alleyway from the cemetery. The fire was started by the pastor of the church to kill his wife, who was having an affair with the deacon. He started the fire while a Sunday school class was taking place, killing all in there. If you go into the cemetery and sit quietly in the corner where they are buried, you can faintly hear the sounds of children playing. Smoking in the cemetery upsets the children.
Key West - Monroe County - Fort Zachary Taylor - Is haunted by the spirit (seen by several workers and confirmed during a tour when his relatives were present and showed a picture) of a man named Wendall who died in Civil War days of Yellow Fever. Anomalies have been caught on film.

Key West - Ocean Key House Resort - Third Floor Suite facing Duval Street - Cold spots during the day. At night, sounds of keys and objects moved around on dresser, sound of sighing, and feeling of someone sitting down on the bed while you're in it! Day or night, upon returning to the room, the lights and curtains are never in the condition in which you left them.

Key West - The Hemingway House - Many people have witnessed Ernest Hemingway waving from his studio window. and lights on and sounds of a typewriter being used after the tours are over and the house is unoccupied.

Miami - Deer Run-"Curtis Mansion"- There are reports of lights going on and off, door opening, and sightings of ghosts of visitors, children, and a man.

Miami - Hammocks Middle School - It is said that the auditorium of Hammocks is haunted by 2 ghosts... It is said people have seen 2 shadows around and the curtains opening and closing and flickering lights.

Miami - Hirschfield Theater - footsteps and other unexplained events are common here.

Miami - The Jockey Club - People who work and live there complain about lights turning on and off, hearing footsteps when they know they are alone, hearing voices, doors locking by themselves. On one occasion security was called when people heard a fight going on in the garage. When security got there they could hear the yelling but could not find anyone there and then suddenly the voices stopped. It is not certain how many spirits are there but at times they do make themselves known.

Miami - Miami Beach - Colony Theater - Footsteps and ghost has been seen back stage and other unexplained events.

North Fort Myers - Motel 6 - There are 4 buildings at this Motel 6 property. - reports mainly from staff at the motel, that noises, and the feeling of being watched. Also, footsteps in the puddles of water, strange screeching noises, screams, and moans of agony, a very strange odor of a female's perfume, and temperature changes.

Orlando - Disney World - Pirates of the Caribbean - The spirit of "George" a worker who died there when a beam fell on him during construction still haunts the attraction. At the beginning of the day and at the end of the day attractions workers must come on the PA system and tell George good morning and good night. If not the attraction has been know to shut itself down adding more work before the workers came go home for the night. - March 2004 Addition/ correction - when the ride was being built in the early 70's (it opened Dec. 15, 1973) , George was a welder who clearly, welded different parts of the scenes on the attraction together. One particular area on the ride, called the "burning city", required George to climb up quite high above the ground. George lost his balance, and fell to his death. If you talk to any of the employees at pirates, they will either know of someone who has had an incident with George, or there is a chance they move have had one themselves.

Pine Island - Capt n' Cons - There is a lot of strange occurrences, such as, the dumpster lid slamming up and down, as well as sightings, voices, and loss of breath

Strangewire [29 Apr 2005|04:58pm]

Hey, just wanted to let you guys know about Strangewire.com, a blog for all things paranormal, supernatural, and the like from legitimate news sources. Unlike the type of sites and columns that deal in "wacky news"-style articles about goofy work mishaps and amusing medical malpractice, Strangewire attempts to deal with phenomena that are part of a bigger question, from strange lights in the sky in the south-west US, to a man with claims of a haunting in Australia, from zombies and voodoo practice in Haiti to global government conspiracies. Fox Mulder's favorite blog, in other words. Recent articles include headlines such as "FLESH CHUNKS IN IOWA WATER LINES" and "NEW JAPANESE GHOST DETECTOR FOR SALE."

the unsolved mysteries of.. the unsolved mysteries. [10 Feb 2005|01:02am]

i didn't really think i'd ever have anything paranormal.. let a lone.. a ghost story.. but, after 25 years i have something to share. .. even though it was not just five minutes ago it's still gives me chills. well, i was in the bathroom and after finishing my number two... i wipe and i get up.. and that's when it happened! i looked into the toilet.. and my poop was gone. i know i felt it coming out.. i even heard .. ))plop((... but under inspection, only the bath tissue remained. where did it go..? i hadn't flushed yet. perhaps there is a small gremlin that lives under the rim.. and grabs it out.. maybe it's those damn scrubbing bubbles... or maybe just maybe there really was no poop.

this is something that will boggle scientists for years to come.

First of all, I just wanted to say i am very happy a community like this was created! I like things like ghosts and stuff like that!
Okay, my story is about my best friend, carly's house. It's definately haunted! Every now and then, she'll see a white figure dashing from one room to another in her house, but she can only see it out of the corner of her eye.
One time, she had already seen the ghost that night and so she was kinda freaking out. She was home alone and locked herself in her room. she has a phone line in her room and the main house one. i was talking to her on her line & i get a call waiting from her house line and i clicked over & someone breathed and then hung up. i was like uhh why'd you call me? and she swore it wasnt her.
On haloween i was over at her house and the alarm went off and nothing was doing anything at all so we think that was the ghost. It's made the refridgerator move across the kitchen.
Knives have dissappeared on numerous occasions. And to top it all off, carly and i have both heard it moaning and groaning on more than one occasion.
Her house is really scary! Hope my story didnt bore anyone!

My "haunted warehouse" story... and to tell you the truth, I don't think it's haunted at all. I think a redneck owns the property and he's just crazy, not to mention I didn't get in because of a 6 ft. fence all the way around the property.. anyway, here it is:

A few friends and I drove over the warehouse the other night and there was a fence all the way around (but we didn't know this at the time) and we thought we could go through the woods in the back of the warehouse and get through that way, we basically couldn't and ended up leaving bummed out and we went back today during the day time to see if we could find a way through, so the next night we wanted to go we'd have a way to get in.

SO as we were getting ready to turn on the street that takes us to the dirt road, we saw the biggest redneck family walking out of the dirt road entry and we didn't want to look suspicious so we just drove past the dirt road entrance and we were going to drive around some until this family left,... but they didn't. That warehouse is a family affair, it's all owned by that family.

It turned out they owned the house on the cornor of the road right next to the dirt road. So they saw us and the crazy man who was in this family outting hopped in his car and sped off down the dirt road. We decide that now is not the best time to go down the dirt road and we start off for the highway.

After us pulling over for a few minutes, deciding what to do , (because we really didnt want to drive back because it would've been a waste of gas) we went back to the dirt road. This time we went down it and we went right by the warehouse. It looks so different during the day. Deffinately beat down. We drove past it and up the road right next to it (which was still dirt) . And on this road it was neverending. It was all woods on one side and a gated field on the other. We get to an entrance to this gate and take pictures then we see a car. It stopped at the end of the road with its lights off. And just sat there. Then when we got in the car and started driving towards it, it turned around and went the other direction.

It turns out its the fucking crazy mans' truck. We pass directly by him and he does a fast 3 point turn and starts chasing us with his truck. We sped out of there like a bat out of fucking hell. He chased us until we were off the dirt road.

We never did get into the warehouse, but we went back after he had chased us away and took more pictures.

All in all, I dont think its haunted, its just highly guarded by a crazy redneck family and its a waste of time since I didn't really get to go in.

I also have a question though, does anyone know why the YMCA was abandoned? I went there last night too and yeah, it's pretty big. Alot of stuff was left behind too, lane lines for the pool, basketball hoops, even a basketball. Anyone know any history on this place?

[28 Jan 2005|12:02am]

I excidently posted this in mine so here is a post for all you fucks.

One night, I was staying over at Lorens house. Well Critter, and I were sitting outside. All the sudden we heard tapping on the window. We had no clue what it was. We then progressed inside the garage, to play some games. We were doing the usual, you know making fun of Lorens parents. I all the sudden got this wierd vibe in me. Like something or someone was there. I was happy to find out it was only Lorens mom, doing a peeping tom act on our ass.

So in conclusion, Lorens house is not haunted.

UFO over US41 [25 Jan 2005|08:14am]

I'm Rachel. I love investigating things I can't explain. It challenges me and puts life in perspective. I've had an earful of paranormal experiences. I'll start with one of the weirdest.

Three or four years ago I was driving to Bell Tower, headed South on US41. I passed Page Field and was near Stevie Tomato's when a bright blue light [which I initially believed to be a fireball] soared overhead extremely quickly, headed West, and appeared to crash into a heavily forested area near Pine Manor. Upon what appeared to be it's crash, it exploded into a large fluorescent blue fire which lasted about half a second. The sound of it's impact most closely resembled the sound of several transformers exploding. Immediately after making contact, every single light down US41 in front of me and behind me [street lights, company signs, traffic lights, etc.] went completely out for 3 or 4 seconds. Then they all simultaneously came back on. I wasn't around any other drivers [the road was relatively empty], so I called home, about 1 mile away, to see if my parents had witnessed any of it. They said they hadn't heard or seen a thing. When I made it to Bell Tower and met up with my friends none of them had seen it either. I still have no idea what happened, and have yet to meet someone else who witnessed that event.

Even though this does not have to do with Ft Myers, has anyone been to the Pons DeLion (SP). Has to be French or something.

Well Mr. Hunt, and I and some friends went to a show out in St.Pete. We ended up staying at this broken down, but still a great hotel. Zach and Colin got a great room, as Critter, Loren, and I had a half ass shitty room. In our room, we had no ice nor buckets. So Critter, and I went on a hunt to find some. At the end of every story in the building there was a small room which contained something. The first room we went to had a ice machine. The second room had just a desk in it. The third room had a shut window, with a chair facing outwards. Critter, and I thought that was to odd. So we rushed to Zach, and Colin for comfort. We told them what was going on and we went back to the room with the chair. When we got back the window had been opened.

Through out the night we still noticed some freaky shit going on. We have no clue what to think of this place, just that something might be going on.

If anyone does go to that place please take pics, and dont stand on the belcony cus it will fall. It is a fun place, just cheep.

Hey, I'm annie, since before i can remember, i've always wanted to be a parapsychologist. i've read so many books on ghost and paranormal activity...i used to read nothing but ghost stories and encounters. i even delighted in the 'boring' scientific encounters. anyone wanna talk about some good stories they've heard? i've got a ton.

i heard there was an old haunted abandoned assylum downtown.
anyone know anything about it?

p.s. we should go on a ghost hunt some time.
